Scope of Work: Originally we were contracted by JCDecaux as a consultant to design a state-of-the-art branding initiative at John F Kennedy International Airport, in the terminal 8 tunnel for American Airlines. Our role rapidly developed to include project management, design and engineering. This expanded role encompassed full system development, implementation, and support services. We evaluated and recommended the software and hardware solutions, integrated all hardware components and managed the project installation. Working with JCDecaux’s marketing sponsor, Microsoft, on the launch of their creative for the new Vista Operating System, DMG provided technical assistance and content management in executing the largest interior digital signage branding initiative at the time. This unique installation immediately garnered world-wide attention and notoriety for JC Decaux NA and Microsoft. Since that time Exxon Mobile has taken over the location and is continuing its efforts with astounding creative and digital effects—continuously managed and monitored by DMG.
This network includes forty 70” High Definition 1080P LCD screens. These 40 displays are clustered in 8 arrays of 5 displays, 20 on each side of the passenger corridor for a one-of-a-kind video experience. Each screen can be addressed individually or content can be synchronized across some or all of the 40 displays. DMG also provides JCDecaux with 24/7 diagnostic monitoring and content management support.

Scope of Work: Designed and constructed a seamless video wall that is the key visual element of the main selling floor of the new “marquee?” San Francisco store. This 4 x 5 video cube wall was erected above the crossing point of up and down escalator banks on a custom-designed rack system— meeting all local earthquake zone building regulations. The wall is programmed as a full screen device most of the time, with the ability to switch in other content layouts as needed. The screen also has local source control for switching content feeds on site, such as, local pricing and titling for sales and special events. This screen has network control for adding and deleting content by corporate marketing management as part of a digital signage pilot.

Location: Chicago and Oak Brook, IL
Scope of Work: Engineered Dynamic Digital Network with commercial free news content for digital tests into two flagship locations in the Chicago area. The stores are the 50th Anniversary McDonald’s® that is located in downtown Chicago and the second restaurant is located adjacent to the US corporate office. Each of these stores has over 30 42” LCD screens. DMG managed all of the content shown at these restaurants, including local insertion of the McDonald’s commercials to replace ads on the cable news channel MSNBC.

Location: New York, NY
Scope of Work: Contracted to design and implement a store-forward and live digital signage system. Screens are located throughout the mall. The mall has four floors of retail space and is one of the largest malls in New York City. Included as part of the system is a control room which manipulates advertising and branding material on more than 50 displays. Also included in this integrated signage network is a custom designed, stainless steel spandrel of six, synchronous 63-inch plasma screens, suspended 30 feet in the air above the central lobby. The Diversified Media Group IT team worked with applications developers to program a one-of-a-kind software package that incorporates a 16 x 9 screen aspect ratio with synchronous key feature and scrolling messaging. The software package includes complete audit function for reporting of played media for ad sales. We also manage, maintain and monitor the network for the retail mall, which is an ongoing
management customer.

Scope of Work: DMG and Diversified Systems, its sister company, have had a long-standing relationship with Madison Square Garden, handling multiple broadcast and audio visual projects. DS was responsible for the design and installation of a high-definition, television control room for all events played or staged at The Garden. DMG recently handled the design and installation of a content management system for digital signage to the 7th Avenue Marquee—LED screen. This was designed with a triple redundant backup system for “always-on” reliability. Its special features include the ability for production teams utilizing the HD control room to route live images to the board via the integrated routing switcher.

Scope of Work: DMG has been a long-time electronics consultant and integrator for RCMH, handling various projects over the years; they include: consulting and development of a custom plan for high-definition television content for tour groups visiting the landmark theater. DMG handled complete design and engineering of a stand-alone HD system for multiple locations, both fixed and mobile. Consulting on this project required the coordination of the efforts of architectural design firms and kiosk manufacturers, due to the landmark status of the building. Recently, DMG designed and installed a multi-channel digital signage system. This system of 16 high-definition, 60” displays around the perimeter of the building will handle 16 discrete channels of content for the promotion of upcoming events at RCMH, and for sister company MSG Entertainment—for productions scheduled at Madison Square Garden. The system is scalable and expandable and will grow to 27 channels and be distributed throughout Rockefeller Center. DMG is also handling monitoring and content management of the entire network.

Location: New York, NY
Scope of Work: As the largest U.S. electronic stock market, NASDAQ is constantly innovating. They were looking for a one of a kind design for their corporate lobby in New York City. DMG engineers and their architects came up with a unique digital signage projection system. This high resolution nine projector system combines front and rear projection techniques on curved surfaces, displaying a variety of client logos and media in the multistoried NASDAQ lobby space. To complete this innovative design, two projectors, utilizing custom software, run a vertical scrolling stock ticker on the glass elevator housing running up the center of the lobby. When it came to dynamic digital signage, NASDAQ wanted something totally singular, and DMG designed and delivered it.

Location: Akron, OH
Scope of Work: DMG provides management for the entire network of 140 digital signage sites for corporate communications all connected via two-way satellite. This system also handles live business television and distance learning programs for the fourth largest electric utility in the U.S. DMG also handles staffing at the training broadcast facility in Reading, PA. The DMG engineering team designed and handled complete system integration of One-Touch “e-learning” technology for direct audience participation and auditing of student performance for later review. DMG expanded services recently to incorporate internet protocol technology for video to the computer desktop applications. DMG Services include content management, scheduling satellite transmission, providing onsite production and engineering support and ongoing communications consulting.
