Kenilworth, New Jersey (August, 2009). David Drain, Executive Director of the Digital Signage Association named Diversified Media Group, President John G. Melillo to the association’s advisory board. Melillo had been nominated by current member of the board for his background in advancing the business of digital signage in the retail and corporate market place. “I am honored to be named to the DSA board,” said Melillo. “I am looking forward to working with the other notable board members on building a strong association for our industry.”
Cranberry, Pennsylvania (January, 2008). Diversified Media Group has completed year-long upgrades to their satellite uplink and data co-location facility. The upgrades of electronic equipment and terrestrial connectivity upgrades will allow the company to expand operations in business communications, distance learning, business continuity (disaster recovery), and digital signage.
A major part of the changeover is the addition of an Idirect hub for two-way satellite transmission. This technical improvement will fit right in line with DMG’s commitment to proactive monitoring for clients across all disciplines, according to Tom Percich, DMG Vice President of Business Development. Percich added, “DMG will be phasing out our one-way DVB service in the coming year as we bring all our clients onto our two-way platform.”
Design and engineering for the change-out was handled by internal satellite and broadcast engineers from both Diversified Media Group and its sister company Diversified Systems. Procurement of new equipment and integration was also handled internally.
“This was an excellent example of utilizing the talents present within the corporation for achieving a superior engineering and construction build with speed and economy,” said John G. Melillo, President of DMG. “It was to our advantage to use one of the leading broadcast engineering companies in the country. If they’re good enough to design for NBC and MTV then DMG is lucky to have them work for us.”
Diversified Systems is one of the leading broadcast and AV integration companies in the United States with a platinum list of clients from network broadcast, high-end audio visual integration to sports and entertainment technical design.
Kenilworth, New Jersey (May, 2008). Senior members of the operations and engineering groups at Diversified Media Group and Diversified Systems were award a consulting contract by stadium advertising company Arena Media Network (AMN) to review products and handle system design for a new advertising concept.
The joint team working under the direction of owner and CEO Fred D’Alessandro will investigate products utilizing the RF systems of stadiums and arenas versus AMN’s present system of deploying screens and players for digital signage.
The new system will operate much like broadcast TV interposing commercials during game playback at the same time within the location as the broadcast feed is going to commercials for the home viewing audience.
Senior Broadcast Engineer Phil Bernal and DMG President John G. Melillo will be part of the initial consulting team with D’Alessandro.
Kenilworth, New Jersey (June, 2008). The management of Diversified Media Group announced today that it has won a contract to redesign, deploy and manage a new retail digital signage network for Armani Exchange.
The new network will be global and encompass properties across the United States to London and Tokyo to begin with. Plans call for other international retail locations to open in China, South America, the Middle East and Northern Europe.
“We are extremely excited to put our engineering and management skills to the test once again for a major global retailer,” said John G. Melillo, DMG President. “Our operations team looks forward to this challenge—working for an exclusive brand that is synonymous with quality fits exactly with our mission critical approach to digital signage is all about—we will deliver.”
The design will encompass five synchronized screens directly behind the cash-wrap area of the store and a powerful audio system to rival any dance club.
Kenilworth, New Jersey (August, 2008). Diversified Media Group puts the finishing touches on a new network operations center to complete their two year design program for managed network services. The new facility located at the company headquarters is the cornerstone of their plans for proactive monitoring and content management services.
This NOC will be the nerve center of our operations business, said Brian Lees, Vice President and General Manager. “We will have full control of all our managed networks for digital signage, business television and disaster recovery from one location. This will give our clients around the clock coverage for their various communications endeavors.”
DMG has been a group of long-time professionals over the past year to manage and staff the facility from the areas of IT and telecommunications services.
This facility will link with the DMG broadcast center in western Pennsylvania creating a single point of management for customers.
As in other internal construction projects it was handled entirely with internal resources from DMG and sister company, Diversified Systems, a leading broadcast and AV integration company. |
